Serendipity is an app created by Lassor Feasley, that one uses in self driving cars during the dead time of a suburban commute.  It helps passengers discover new people and places to explore. The app creates opportunities to see the world that normally passes one by on the way home.

This project uses a transparent screen that looks like a windshield.  Lassor doesn’t feel people should be looking at their phones in autonomous cars. Instead, Serendipity encourages users to look outward and engage with the world. This device shows how heads up displays could be used for this purpose.

Lassor is from the SVA Product of Design Department.
