Second-year MFA  Photo, Video, and Related Media  student Brett Henrikson (@brett_henrikson) has been using the Visible Futures Lab's Dimension uPrint FDM 3D printer to create "ivory" objects that are based on Roman copies of Greek statue fragments manipulated in Meshmixer.

The pieces are to be included in his Thesis, "Next Slide," examining the common art historical experience of viewing works in a slide show format as well as referencing his physical process of manipulating images on a flatbed scanner.

The 3D objects are connected to his two-dimensional images, which are then printed in a variety of media, from dot-matrix laser jet printing to jacquard woven tapestry.
