Second-year MFA Design student Mitchell Reece came in today to cut detailed silhouettes out of acrylic plastic using the laser cutter.

Mitchell created the silhouettes in Illustrator, editing images of Leonard Peltier, Assata Shakur, and Ana Belen Montes, political prisoners of the United States - the latter two seeking asylum abroad in Cuba. The acrylic work is an expansion of a book project Mitchell created to document these three figures' biographies and trials.
