Human Hand

First-year  MFA Fine Arts  student (and Visible Futures student worker) Jimmy Mezei used the wood shop tonight to construct a custom armature for a multi-panel lightbox, growing off of his previous work dealing with traditional signage.

First-year MFA Fine Arts student (and Visible Futures student worker) Jimmy Mezei used the wood shop tonight to construct a custom armature for a multi-panel lightbox, growing off of his previous work dealing with traditional signage.

Using scrap materials as a way to reuse and recycle in the fabrication process, Jimmy is working to connect the realms of design and fine arts, in line with his interests in modernism and labor issues.

As evident here, he is returning the human hand to the construction process, combining a use of power tools and hand tools.
