Chester designed a "foot" to be used in his ceramic works.

The Objet printer cures photoresin using UV light within a matrix of partially cured resin that serves as the support structure for the actual print.  This support structure must be cleaned off for mold-making.

The process can be laborious, but the result is a nearly smooth object devoid of the striations found in the more common FDM 3D-printing systems.
