John Boran was back using our wood shop to make final prototypes for his thesis project in the MFA Products of Design program. These are two proposed geological tools designed for use on Mars. He recently talked with an astronaut to get notes on his design and was thankful for the constructive feedback.
These prototypes are the result of many sketches both physical and digital and are in the last stages before applying a finish. He used the CNC to carve the components out of Poplar so the tools would have the specific weight he was after.
